Work Experience
Work, work work ...
In Year 10 and 11 you'll get the chance to do work experience for one or two weeks. Seems like the distant future but there's nothing stopping you thinking now about the kind of work experience you'd like. Most schools like the idea of you trying to find an employer for your work experience placement.
Some people are offered part-time jobs and apprenticeships by employers they meet on work experience.
Part -time jobs seem like a good idea when you've got a long wish list and limited funds and its more work experience, but did you know that if you're still at school you'll need a work permit? It's illegal for an employer to give you a job without one. Depending on your age and local regulations there'll be limits on the type of work you can do and the number of hours you can work.
