Help Choosing Options

The options, and the levels at which each subject is offered, are not the same at every school. You should check what is available at your school.

Options Booklets

You will probably get an Options Booklet listing the subjects that are available. This will be very helpful when thinking about which ones to take.

Choices Year 9

The Connexions South Tyneside website has an excellent Choices section designed to help you with the decisions you'll face.

Options Evenings

Your school is likely to invite you and your parents/carers to a Key Stage 4 Options Evening or event. This will give you an opportunity to speak to subject teachers and tutors about the subjects that interest you.

Your Form Tutor

Your Form Tutor will be able to help you understand the choices you have. So don't be frightened to ask. If your Form Tutor doesn't have an answer, they will be able to arrange for you to speak to someone who can help you.

More People to Ask

Before you make up your mind, it is important that you get as much advice as you can. Talk to your parents, carers, teachers and Connexions Personal Advisers to work out a mix that suits you. Of course, this website can also help you.
